4 Touchstones for MCC Ministry

These are the four elemental guidelines, or benchmarks, with which we assess and calibrate our ministries.
Our core message: THE GOSPEL
  • ​the most consequential message for every living person
  • the church is entrusted with “the faith which was once for all handed down to the saints” and must guard it from compromise
  • we must be faithful in declaring it
Our primary guide: SCRIPTURE
  • ​the only, sufficient, written Word of God
  • we honor it, stand on its inerrant truth, submit to its authority, and strive to “accurately handle” it in all we teach
  • we rely on the power and illumination of the Holy Spirit,
    ​its Author
Our key strategy: PRAYER
  • ​with faith, according to God’s will, informed by Scripture
  • seeking His direction and depending on His empowering to do His work in His way
  • asking Him to do His work of grace in the hearts of those we minister to
The essential outcome: SPIRITUAL LIFE AND GROWTH
  • ​beyond all human ability to generate
  • only from the Holy Spirit, who gives spiritual rebirth and makes “new creations” of those who believe and obey the gospel
  • the only way of truly knowing God—and being known by Him; the only basis on which genuine discipleship takes place
Thus, our church ministries, whether evangelistic or discipling, are primarily “soul focused” to the ends of bearing eternal fruit.
